If you're still using paper towels to clean your windows, it's time to make a switch. One solution is to use crumpled newspaper instead, but it does tend to leave your hands black and inky. I prefer to use cotton rags. My system is two-handed: squirt homemade window cleaner on the window, then use one rag to wipe most of the grime and cleaner away (right hand). Follow this with final wipe-down with a dry rag (left hand).

It’s Memorial Day Weekend and normally, I wouldn’t even consider posting here. However, the WordCount blogathon continues, and I’ve made it this far, posting every day in May. For the weekend, you’ll have to content yourself with an image a day from my garden. Today: broccoli. This is the first time I’ve grown broccoli, so it was exciting to find that these plants actually do make…broccoli!
I remember the first time planting broccoli and not knowing how it was going to come up. Yum! Your crop is growing well.

I didn’t do anything special. I started these from seeds in little planters, then transplanted out in the garden about 5 weeks ago. (Good soil, of course!)
