It’s Memorial Day Weekend and normally, I wouldn’t even consider posting here. However, the WordCount blogathon continues, and I’ve made it this far, posting every day in May. For the weekend, you’ll have to content yourself with an image a day from my garden. Today: broccoli. This is the first time I’ve grown broccoli, so it was exciting to find that these plants actually do make…broccoli!

  • I remember the first time planting broccoli and not knowing how it was going to come up. Yum! Your crop is growing well.

    • Kris Bordessa ,

Isn’t it funny? I mean, *obviously it’s a plant that grows and turns into broccoli, but it was like Christmas morning when I discovered that!

  • A friend just gave me six. Any secrets to planting them?

    • Kris Bordessa ,

I didn’t do anything special. I started these from seeds in little planters, then transplanted out in the garden about 5 weeks ago. (Good soil, of course!)
