Surprise Chicks

Look what I found in my chicken pen! One of the wild hens has been hanging around and yesterday she showed up with a bunch of chicks. Later in the day I found two that had made their way into our pen and couldn’t get out. No mama in sight, so I brought them inside. Our flock just grew by two!

  1. Congrats! Is there anything sweeter than baby chicks? Ok, all babies are sweet, lol. I’ve got a hen sitting on 5 eggs right now, counting down the days!

I LOVE them when they’re freshly hatched. So, so darling. My son said the other day, “How can something that starts out so cute become such a boring bird?”

  2. Awww so cute. I’d love to have chickens too. I kwwp toying with the idea.

That video is a riot, with the one chirpy chick and the one silent type. I may have missed something, but how did wild chickens start wandering around Hawaii?

I love it! Baby chicks are great. I new chicks at my house right now and I’m loving their chirps and funny behavior. It would be so fun to have wild chicks just show up in my yard. I’m a bit jealous

  5. That is SO awesome. When I read the headline … I thought, maybe yours had somehow had chicks, but this is really neat. Congrats on the new additions.
