Peach Simple Syrup
Oh, friends, this is so easy. If you’re a fan of the peach Torani syrup common in hip coffee houses, you are going to love this.
This fresh peach syrup recipe is ready to use in a little more than an hour. (Most of that is just cooling time, so you’ll need to put very little effort into this!)
Ingredients
Peaches — Fresh peaches are perhaps the perfect early summer fruit. Choose fresh fruit that’s available to you locally for the best peach flavor.

Sugar — Use your favorite brand of granulated cane sugar. I prefer organic, as it allows me to avoid GMO ingredients or those that have been dried down with glyphosate. You can also use brown sugar, which will give the syrup a darker color and a rich molasses-y flavor.

To make this fresh peach simple syrup, start by thoroughly washing the peaches. Peeling the peaches is not necessary, but you’ll see a color differential based on whether or not you choose to peel the peaches. Leaving the skins on results in a somewhat pink syrup; remove skins for a more yellow/orange finished product.
Remove the pits and chop the peaches into chunks. Combine the chopped peaches with the water and sugar in a saucepan.
Simmer for five minutes, then remove from heat and allow mixture to sit for about an hour.
Strain cooked peaches over a measuring cup or small bowl. Retain the peaches for use in another recipe. (They’re great over ice cream!)
Transfer the finished peach simple syrup to a bottle or jar with a sealable lid and refrigerate.
