Saving Seeds: Basil

Just breaking out in bloom.

Basil in bloom.

Dry seed pods on the stem.

Seed pods pulled from stem.

Roll dry pods around in the palm of your hand to remove the small black seeds.

    • Well, that all depends on your planting season. Typically, you’d save these at the end of the season (I tuck mine in the fridge) for planting the following spring.
